Accident investigation
Mayer’s detailed understanding of machine behaviour, design, analysis and auditing proves invaluable in undertaking accident investigations and carrying out emergency repairs and recovery projects.
Accident investigations and emergency repairs often involve detailed analysis of the mode of failure, failure state, structure modeling, fracture mechanics, and accident dynamics. Our role is to report on the causes of the accident and identify procedures for repair and recovery.
In doing so, we draw on our broad knowledge of engineering, metallurgical science and machine behaviour to identify the case of the failure or accident, analyse potential repairs, develop procedures for recovery and recommissioning the machinery, and implement monitoring processes to ensure the integrity of the machine after its recovery.
